Internship at Hong Leong Bank Berhad.

Hai.

It's been a long time I didn't update my blog. Yes, busy with my industrial training a few past months. Before this I have updated about internship placement that I got. It's quite a lot actually, because even a week after I start my internship at Hong Leong Bank Berhad, I received a call from Petronas to offer me a placement.

I have to reject all the offer since I already signed a letter to having my internship at Hong Leong Bank Berhad. Yes, I chose Hong Leong to do an internship. So far, I went to Top Glove Interview and Hong Leong Interview. I think Hong Leong interview is more formal and yes, I'm stuttered to answer all the questions they ask for me.

So why I chose Hong Leong Bank instead the other company?

It is quite a personal reason. Because my objective is to get some exposure in the banking industry. I wonder how they check the daily currency. Since nowadays our USD-MYR currency, is not so good, so I think I can also monitor how high the currency can go up.

If you wonder what bachelor I in and can I go to the banking industry. My answer is I'm taking Mathematics for my degree and yes, I can go to banking, but it is quite tough because you need to learn something new. As you guys know, banking is more to financial mathematics, but if you willing to learn something new, there is not possible at all.

When I said to my friends," Hey, I think I wanna do my internship at Hong Leong Bank. ". They ask me to think twice. Last year, there are some issues about the Muslim are not able to perform the prayer. You can google for it.

When I started my internship, I saw a big portion of the Chinese race in Hong Leong Bank. Wow. And I'm quite terrified and worried if I cannot survive among them. The first thing in my head is, " Omg. I'm dead. With whom I will have my lunch later. "

But all my assumptions are wrong. Totally wrong. Luckily, I am not a shy person type. I can blend in with my new environment, and with new people even with the cleaner or pak guard or receptionist. In the corporate world, your attitude and your academic level will make people to respect you.

Yes, I will graduate from UiTM. As you guys know, UiTM is only for Malay races. I only use the English language with my lecturer. Compared with Hong Leong, I need to communicate/write/listen in English. This is a bonus since I can improve my knowledge and learn some new vocabulary.

By surrounding with the other races, was a wonderful experience. Now I even whatsapp with them everyday and gossiping around. One thing I dislike so far which is they speak using Mandarin/Cantonese among them. So, if you hangout with them, surely you are not able to translate what they are talking about. But don't worry, you can just say, " Please la using language that I can understand. " HAHA

In Hong Leong, I have been assigned under Risk Management. They said this department is very demanding among the student, especially Actuarial student. Personally, I found Risk department is quite interesting and fun.

My internship end on 11 December 2015. And now I'm struggling to finish my industrial training report.

I blessed for having a good boss and good colleagues.
I think I love Hong Leong Bank Berhad.
